Celebrating our Occupational Therapists!

As our Mobility Rehab team wraps up Occupational Therapy (OT) Month on the last day of April today, we wanted to share a little bit more about our amazing OT team!

Many times, OTs can become overlooked as they work hard, dedicated in their behind-the-scenes roles, while still remaining among the healthcare industry’s most vital professionals. As the COVID-19 pandemic came and continues to affect many people with lingering post-virus symptoms, our OTs continue to transform everyday life for so many patients, especially those in our local senior adult communities.

On behalf of everyone at Mobility Rehab, we thank you ALL for the hard work, dedication and difference you make in our patients’ lives every week through our mobile therapy services! You are appreciated and we wouldn’t be where we are today without YOU! We are proud to share more about our OT team as well as other interesting information about this amazing therapy discipline on this #FactFriday!

Keep reading to learn about our OT Team and…..Don’t forget to share this blog post or any other OT-focused post we have from our social media page, tag us (Mobility Rehab) and list an approved hashtag (i.e. #OTMonth, #AprilisOTMonth, #OTMonth2021, #OTMonthwithMobilityRehab, #CaptureOT, etc.) to enter TODAY...it’s the LAST DAY TO ENTER TO WIN !! *BONUS: If you’ve read this far, then keep entering to win all the way up until midnight tonight on April 30th!

Andron Gokool, OTR - Andron has helped our team grow leaps and bounds, even amidst a pandemic! He has a lovely wife and two adorable daughters and loves to fish and go to the beach whenever he can.

Gillian Cole, COTA - As this is Gillian’s 24th year working as a COTA, she shares, “I no longer like it...I LOVE it! My job has become a part of me and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else! Helping and nurturing people is my passion.”

Samara King, OTR - Samara has been with our team for over seven years, and her passion never quits!  She gives meaning to the saying "Being an OT is my Superpower!"  One of her many "save the day" uniforms is her wetsuit - always ready whenever a tricky shower safety situation is involved!

Kaeleigh Hicks, DrOT, MOT, OTR/L, CLT & our new Director of Rehabilitation - She fell in love with the OT profession “because it truly is rewarding to have a career that treats the whole body and helps maximize independence of meaningful daily tasks, while enhancing quality of life for all diagnoses and populations.”

Amanda Carmosino, OT - Prior to joining our team, Amanda worked as an Occupational Therapist in skilled nursing and rehabilitation for over five years. Amanda has always known she wanted to be in the healthcare field to serve people. Her goals are to help others return to independence and to be able to do what they love to do - and she helps them do that every day!

Imani Aird, COTA/L - Imani loves this field and is continuing her education to achieve a higher degree in OT at a later date. She chose to work with the geriatric population because she wanted to show them that they can still lead full and purposeful lives and they also have the best humor and wisdom to give - and she does!

Tomette Baker, COTA/NBCOT - Tomette has lived in the Clermont area for over 14 years now and joined our team in January 2018 - “I feel blessed to live and work right here in my community” and we are blessed to have you here at Mobility Rehab!

Melissa Hipskind OTR - Melissa was inspired to become an OT after her grandfather was injured when she was in high school. As he received intensive therapy, she observed and realized how much it helped him recover. She also learned more about the field through her mother, a special education teacher. Melissa observed her students receiving frequent therapy sessions as well!

Tiffany Rodriguez, COTA - Tiffany has served in the OT field for over six years so far and she loves it - “I don’t see myself doing anything else. I’m not just a therapist for my patients. I am whatever they need - a friend, a person they confide in, a supporter, a motivator and overall cheerleader in their corner.”

Melissa Feltner, COTA - She brings detail, passion and tenacity to her patients and their care everyday as a graduate from Keiser University, earning her OTA license this past September 2020.

Jennifer Appolloni, COTA - As one of our awesome COTAs with over six years of experience, Jennifer has worked hard and provided much relief to her patients, touching their lives and making them smile. And now, she is taking some time with her family to recover from a personal health experience. We are all keeping her in our thoughts each day and rooting her on toward the road to recovery!

Bill Bonus, COTA - He entered the OT profession because he wanted to have a positive impact on the geriatric population; spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. We are so glad to have him join our team!

Denney Meigs, OT - Welcome Denney as part of the OT team - a recent graduate from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences! She's one of our most recent Mobility Rehab team members and is already making a huge difference in our senior community in Clermont. We are so happy to have her as part of our team!

Thank YOU ALL AGAIN FOR ALL YOU DO and for this awesome OT TEAM with Mobility Rehab!
